Roaming: mobile internet bills now capped

The European Commission has announced the introduction of a measure to make sure consumers receive bills astronomical due to the internet from their mobile phones when traveling abroad (roaming).
 The cases of over-invoicing (several tens of thousands of euros) which has faced some Orange subscribers, despite having subscribed to an offer unlimited data, should not happen again. Starting today, the European mobile operators have an obligation to propose a system that automatically cut the connections to the mobile Internet, since their consumption abroad (roaming) reaches a maximum.For now, this service is optional, but it becomes routine, from 1 July, with a threshold set automatically at 50 euros if the client has not made a specific request. The subscriber is free to choose any other amount, and will receive an alert when 80% of this amount is reached. The cut will then be imposed once the threshold is reached.The device is part of a series of measures adopted at EU level to reduce the bills for the use of a mobile network roaming.
